Rather than seeing multi-level marketing or newspaper routes as the only solutions for family-based business, we need to appreciate the opportunities in neighbor-oriented food sales. A rule of thumb in vegetable production is $1 per square foot of ground. In intensive raised bed and square-foot gardening type systems, this can be quadrupled. But even if we assumed the lowest figure, that’s more than $40,000 per acre."

Hi Anna,
ReplyDeleteI've just found your blog - actually a friend forwarded it to me, knowing my own interest in growing veg. We are a homeschooling family from Scotland, and 2 years ago, having built our home where we have plenty land, we began growing our own veg. I can't believe the grip it has got on me! It has been amazing seeing God's creation at work; it is fabulous seeing home-grown veg on the table; and it has been a significant financial saving for us too. I LOVE it!
Please visit my blog any time.
Love, Anne x
